Challenges and Proffered Solution
- Finance: One of the major challenges facing the entire centre is finance. The major source of income has been the production works. There is a need for the centre to have other sources of income if she must be one hundred percent self sustaining.
- Technical Manpower: It has not been easy to recruit maintain our technical staff. Even those trained in the centre usually leaves for a better pay in other local industries and beyond. Thus, better working conditions is required to retain such staff.
- Inadequate Number of Staff: Considering the dual activities of the centre, more staff is supposed to be employed to ensure a maximum output.
- Poor Turn-up in Recruitment of Trainees: Considering the primary goal of the centre, more advertisement should be enforced in order to maximize the number of trainees in the centre.
- Poor Water Supply: As the number of occupants in VTTC hostel increases, the usage of water in the compound is very high that the water in the reservoir can no longer serve the VTTC family and thus the need for a borehole.
